On the edge, a few minutes from the collapse, or so it seems. I have arrived with my muse Alejandra at the old Riomar apartment complex, where every stone seems to crumble on our heads. With apparent calm, but with enthusiasm, we take the photos that occur to us, always looking up, groping walls, stepping on apparently firm slabs. She sits on the edges, stands on top of walls, fixes her veil, poses. Look out through rusty windows, she pretends she misses. She ignores passers-by, it's the two of us that matter, no one else. The photos have to look good. Who knows if tomorrow the building will be gone.
En el borde, a unos minutos del derrumbe, o al menos así parece. He llegado con mi musa Alejandra al antiguo complejo de apartamentos Riomar, donde cada piedra parece que se va a desmoronar en nuestras cabezas. Con aparente calma, pero con entusiasmo, hacemos las fotos que se nos ocurren, siempre mirando arriba, tanteando paredes, pisando en losas aparentemente firmes. Ella se sienta en los bordes, se para encima de muros, se arregla su velo, posa. Mira por las herrumbrosas ventanas, hace como que extraña. Ignora a los que van de paso, somos nosotros dos los que importamos, nadie más. Las fotos tienen que quedar bien. Quién sabe si mañana el edificio ya no esté.
