Life is emotion, but emotion is not life.

From a innocent child to an old man near the end of his journey—laughter, tears, anger, and affection are all inseparable parts of being human. Throughout our lives, we summon these emotions as needed. But if you pause and look closely at human nature, you will notice a striking reality: The vast majority of our worst decisions were born directly out of moments governed by emotion.

Have you ever wondered why we do this? Why do we repeatedly fall into the same emotional traps?

The answer is simple, yet uncomfortable: Because every human being is inherently selfish.

Yes, I am selfish, you are selfish, and everyone around us is driven by self-preservation and fulfillment. It sounds bitter, but truth rarely tastes sweet.

The Pursuit of Mental Peace
Look at a genuinely good person. They consistently perform kind acts because their emotions are invested in goodness, and doing so grants them an inner sense of tranquility.

Now look at a criminal. They commit malicious acts fueled by anger and resentment, yet in their own twisted way, they are chasing the exact same thing—mental peace.

Consider a young lover. In his first true relationship, he is deeply loyal because his peace resides in that single bond. But if that trust is broken, he shatters. Often, he spends the rest of his life taking unspoken revenge on future relationships, constantly trying to reclaim the emotional peace he lost long ago.

Good or bad, honorable or destructive—everything we do is inextricably tied to our emotions, feelings, and the relentless search for peace of mind.

The Illusion of Control
But ask yourself this critical question: Who is actually controlling this inner urge for peace, anger, and emotion?

Are you truly at the wheel? Or are you merely giving commands?

Most of the time, we just feed instructions to our subconscious mind—"If I get this, I’ll feel complete," "If I do that, I’ll finally be happy," "If I achieve this, I will be somebody."

Now, let us bring this home to a reality we know all too well: Trading.

Why are roughly 90% of the people around us unsuccessful in life? Why is it that in the world of trading, no one can truly prove that more than 11% of traders remain consistently profitable? (Unless, of course, you listen to the predatory brokers and dishonest peddlers who profit off people's losses).

Why do so many fail? Because they let raw emotion drive their actions instead of self-control.

A Question to Ponder...
So, sit back for a moment. Clear your mind, and think deeply:

Who is the real controller sitting behind your subconscious emotions and feelings?

I’m leaving this question with you today. Take your time, think it through, and I will share the second part of this realization tomorrow...
