Good day to you all here my tutors and learners here on hive.
Every day is always a happy day and a day to remember the glory of the Lord upon us all. It’s a privilege to be among you all here on hive, it’s never by our might.
Most of the time we live our lives as it comes, we meet with new people and also share memories with them. As we meet from different places, so do we come from different backgrounds.
There are times when we have to study who we are and how we relate with people, we also learn to change our ways and make sure we don’t offend people with our character. Part of being a good character is, to be honest, kind, loyal, submissive, respectful, responsible, loving, caring, and many more… And so do we have a lot of bad vices like stealing, lying, backbiting, smoking, drugs and child abuse, and many more…
But there are times when lying always comes in two ways, it comes as a way to proffer solutions to occurrences and create a peaceful existence among humans, and there are times that this same lying could destroy a relationship or cause a great conflict among people if care is not taken. So it depends on the side you choose to go for.
This would take me straight to the prompt of week 32 edition 3 on the hive learners community and the topic to be discussed is “LIES”.
MY STORY
If I could remember vividly how we learned our lesson back then when we were still young. Every time we reminisce about the incident we would always burst into laughter. Back then it was hell for us but now it has become a memorable moment in our lives.
There was a day when we were given food by our neighbors who were celebrating a child’s birthday. We didn’t attend the ceremony because our parents were not at home with us. After a whole lot of celebration, they brought us our portion of the food. We were also expecting that to happen but there is no assurance over that.
We heard a knock on the door and then collected the food from our neighbor. We turned the food into another plate so we would be able to return it. After turning it over, before we wash the plates myself and my siblings licked the oil that remains on the plate before washing. The taste was so good.
We can’t wait any longer to have those rice diving down our throats. Then we decided to inform our parents about it so that we can give it a go-ahead. I was the one appointed for the task, and I accepted. Not getting too far I met with dad on the way then he asked where I was heading, I told him about the food then he asked me about my oily lips. 😆.
I was dumbfounded at that moment, I thought of a million lies but nothing surfaced in my head. He tapped my head home. I already knew we were in trouble. 😂
When we got home, my siblings were happy to see him but my expression was out of this world. We got a hell of beating and punishment that very day and I thought what if I had lied that I was going somewhere and not to meet him?, what if I had lied that very day maybe we would have been saved?
