Autonomous micromaison
With its egg-shaped shape and matte white hull, it has the appearance of a chicken egg lying on its side: here is the Ecocapsule. Spotted by the US site specializing in Treehugger sustainable development; the Ecocapsule is an invention of the Czech architecture firm Nice Architects.
On its website, the firm presents the Ecocapsule as a stand-alone micromaison, which means you can install it virtually anywhere. A solar panel grid on the roof and a mast topped with a small wind turbine give you all the energy you need. The panels can produce up to 750 watts, the 880 watts turbine, enough to generate enough power to act as a charging station for an electric vehicle.
Energy, water: everything has been thought
The Ecocapsule also has a dose of intelligence with a battery of sensors that you can connect to your smartphone. Built in fiberglass and aluminum, it is also very light: 2,976 pounds on the scale, or 1,350 kilos only. A van, and even a car equipped with a hitch are enough to transport it.
The ovoid shape is not only aesthetic. It maximizes energy efficiency by reducing heat loss. As for the water, a rain collector is placed on the roof. Filtering is provided by a reverse osmosis unit. Inside, you will find a dry toilet component solids and filtering liquids to the outside. For its launch, the Ecocapsule is offered to the first 50 orders at a price of 79,900 euros. If success is there, prices should fall quickly.
