Hello Steemians! Wishing you all the best. I came across this great psychological question onquora that catched my attention. What come to my mine is that its good item to share with you people of steem. As it gathered the opinion of different people. But, before we go deep let us understand the basics.
Reading
According to wikipedia: its the cognitive process of decoding symbols to derive meaning ("reding books or reading music")
Smart
According to Nathan Doromal: its the ability to achieve your goals effectively in a given environment.
Is reading really makes a person smart?
Unlike Reading, tv and social media which dumb people down (as attention is not required which does not help for the growth of mine).
We know that through reading we gathered knowledge, and its what we use to decide and apply the best in order to reap the desired outcome.
Through reading we can learn that which never happened to us or never being to our mental imagination, which boost our intellect.
It helps in cleansing our souls capability and an exposure to words. Words are the vehicle of ideas, through which we decide our thought.
It helps in improving our writing and speaking skills.
Also, reading things effectIVely will change our life and design it as we required.
It improve our confidence, focus, discipline and many more.
It imrove our personality on handling Pressure, Stress , fear, anxiety, confussion and more
It helps us to understand the mentality, cultures, societies, ideas and behaviour of others.
Reading is the common habit to most successful people in the world. The like of;
Bill Gate, Warren Buffet, Dangote, Barrack 0bama,
It also says what we read is what we think.
Reyansh Anand says:
Reading does not make you smart. It only help you understand life better.
It is a single keystone habit that has power to change your life.
Omar Ibn Sajjad says
You wont become Einstein by reading books, but it will certainly help you.
Ananth Ajith says
Read and reap!"read or not you will grow up, you will reap if you do, you will trip if you don't.
Teela Wyman says
Reading just make you less ignorant, not smarter, as smartness depend on your health and genetic constituents.
At end Read books and have multiple worlds to swallow..
Knowledge is not power, but the applied one is power
