Bitcoin has been around much longer than Steem and is clearly the forerunner for cryptocurrency.
Today I would like to give my fellow Steem family a good read and some great content.
Since joining I have seen alot of positive things happening not just within the Steemit community but crypto-world as a whole. In such times as today with the worlds biggest financial meltdown ahead of us a new financial world is growing and making the future brighter for generations to come. Steemit is a platform that is here to stay and cryptocurrency will be the future.
Steemit is a social network that looks and functions a lot like Reddit, but with one HUGE difference:
Steemit pays both the content creators when their work gets upvoted, as well as the people who curate the best content on the site by upvoting others work.
This is possible because the Steemit platform is built on top of a new kind of digital currency. (Think Bitcoin, which is another kind of digital currency that has been around for a while.)
All this content might create some revenue for the people posting, but mainly it goes to the platforms that host them.
Steemit aims to change that. It is defines itself as “a blockchain-based social media where anyone can earn rewards”.
The way to get them is by posting (good) content and upvoting articles that end up being popular. In that way all the content that we just give the other social media as twitter, facebook and instagram, comes back to us. Well, in Steemit, it’s normal for users to voice their opinion, point out flaws, suggest alternative ideas and come up with solutions to problems that arise within Steemit. There is a self-governance aspect of Steemit that is entirely missing in Facebook. When I’m in Facebook, I get the overwhelming sensation of being like a Kindergartner and being served lollipops for lunch and being spoiled with new features that I really don’t need. When I’m in Steemit, I feel the pressure to think and also to figure out what I will contribute. And yes, I do have an advantage because I was an early adopter, but I currently don’t have whale friends who upvote all my posts, so I have to think very strategically about what I should write and how to use my energy efficiently.
With more and more people waking up to this reality every day and converting their fiat currency into Steem, the value will continue to rise. So I would say the future is looking good for us!
This is not just about earning money through posting and upvoting, this is about the re-education of the masses. Which is why this article will be going out on all my social media & video sites!
Blessings to you all and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this article
Thanks
