For those of you that don't know... I occasionally brew alcohol on here. Last year I made mead w/ juneberries and fruit wines.
During this quarantine I will definitely be making some bottles.
Making wine is very easy folks! And there aren't many things you need to buy. Follow along with me as I make some 2020 and bottle it! 2020 will be a special year for wine cause it's the quarantine year and a lot of people will bottle. And it's a novelty year.
The first thing you should order is some yeast. I recommend Premier Classique. Yeast reacts with sugar to make alcohol.
The next item you need are a few airlocks. They are very cheap {as is the yeast.} this item allows alcohol vapor to escape {so your wine bottles don't explode.} The airlock also keeps the bottle sealed so the fruity sugar water doesn't go moldy before there's alcohol.
If you are confused don't worry. The actual physical process to make wine is very simple. You don't even really need to understand it before you make the wine.
Another item you need is some cheesecloth. This is a very simple item which you will use to strain the fruit juice. When you pick your fruit of choice; you will then smash the fruit up and squeeze the fruit juice out with the cheese cloth.
The fourth and final item you'll need is some empty bottles! You can find these easily. I recommend saving your own bottles but if you have to find some... check very carefully for chipped bottles and don't use those.
That's it! All you need are those four ingredients! And of course some kind of fruit juice. You can use blackberries, grapes, strawberries etc. Most people have access to some kind of fruit!

When your kids are all grown up and ask you about the quarantine ... you can whip out the special 2020 blackberry wine from the cellar.
