A new platform by @leofinance

The new alpha user interface for @leofinance was used by roughly 700 users in the past week. The engagement has multiplied, the conversations around the value of new UI is happening non stop and communities are slowly bringing their activities on threads. All positive developments. Right?

Also, there are rumbles and doubts among users on whether this uptrend on activity is sustainable or not. The uptrend in activity could only be an excitement over this new product. The excitement will fade once users play with the new UI and go back to the regular slumber. These are all valid points as we don’t know what the future holds.

Having said that, there are many factors that may maintain the activity at the same level. Just having conversations on threads and providing feedback to the project team will help enormously at this point.

The first week of alpha UI saw a massive jump in the number of threads as expected. A couple of days before the weekend saw almost 2700 threads per day which was much higher compared to 800-900 threads before the launch.

My Experience

As I shared with you all before, I have been using #threads exclusively for the whole week now. I have not used the old UI for threads and to publish long form content. The new UI is handling the level of engagement I normally have on #hive. Of course, I have to rely on other Hive front ends for topics on photography and running.

As many other users are sharing on posts and threads, there are #feedbacks for #Khal and the team on how to improve the new UI. For me, the most important feature is the ‘nested conversation’ feature. It will enable users to interact with multiple threads based on the accounts they follow and threads they interact with.

The notification system is the best feature of this new UI, hands down. I would love to see filtering and nested conversation features to make sure the notification system is up to the highest level.

Hive engagement league and #threaders

@abh12345 posts his ranking on Hive Engagement League. Take a look at his post that came out yesterday. Threaders dominated. The four accounts in the top 10 list in that table are threaders. I have been in the table for more than a year now and this is the first time ever I am featured in the top league.

We all know what fueled that, right?

It has to be the engagement on threads. The conversations that happen on threads UI, the ease with which you are able to comment and reply and the efficiency to have posts on a central platform made it easy for us threaders to crush the table. This is the evidence that you are looking for which shows how the network effect happens and how the network effect multiplies engagement on Hive.

What’s the benefit to users?

Identity

The platform is ideal for new and small users. We all know who the whales are and who the high yielding bloggers and witnesses are. There is no way for new and small users to make sure they are featured in the blogging realm since they earn less and are not always curated by curation trails. That’s where threads intervene to give identity back to users.

Interaction

As noted above, hive users get organic interaction on threads. All thread users are free to post how and what they want and there is no quality policing. That is best for interaction with your fellow hivers on content that is shared on the platform. Threads is the best way to interact and have conversations.

Engagement on your post

The platform is also a place for users to share their long form content and other links that they think are valuable for others. Share your photos, links and your posts to make sure there is higher engagement.

Ideas

My personal experience with threads is this specific benefit that tops them all. I generate ideas to write a post or a thread while reading other threads. You are reading posts and articles on items that you think are relevant. That’s how you create ideas for your posts.

Micro-earnings

Micro blogging is your gateway to micro earnings. Users do not need to worry too much about earnings like the long form posts. The micro earning is more for engagement and not for the quality of your posts. It does not mean that you are earning hive and leo on your spam but there is not much higher threshold on quality when you micro blog.

No pressure

Following the point I noted above, there is no pressure to create quality content on threads. This does not mean threads are full of shit posts but it means there is no pressure on users to fit into a certain frame.

So, here are a few points I wanted to share with other hive users on why threads is the best place to be on Hive. New and small users do not need to wait until eternity to have exposure with whales and larger accounts. Ask @onealfa.leo as he is booming upvotes all over threads irrespective of the account size. Same with @taskmaster4450 and many others.
