‘See You Again’ overtakes ‘Gangnam Style’ to claim the most views on Youtube

The official music video for Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's 'See You Again' has become the most watched YouTube video of all time as of Tuesday.

The song's clip has now been viewed 2,895,605,881 times, while previous record holder PSY's Gangnam Style is just under with views of 2,894,494,866.

It’s hard to believe that Korean pop sensation Gangnam Style was first uploaded to YouTube almost five years ago on July 15, 2012, and it seemed the whole world went crazy for that video, as it has kept the title of the most watched video since that time…until Tuesday.

The See You Again music track was written as a tribute to late actor Paul Walker, and then used in the soundtrack for The Fast and Furious 7 movie. Walker died in an unfortunate car accident while that film was still at production stage.

The Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth video reached one billion views in just six months, exceeded two billion views last September.
According to accumulated non stop time, See You Again has effectively streamed for more than 21,000 years.

Another hit, Luis Fonsi's Despacito has been viewed more than 2.5 billion times in a span of just six months, and in all likelihood won’t slow down, some have been saying that See You Again's reign as the most watched video could be short-lived.
