The Liberation (Grand Plan Series) – 'The Road' (ORIGINAL STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS) Part #18

The last morning on the road is rainy and foggy. After our second hour of walking, Pit leans on a post with the big sign. We are very close to our destination. He spreads his hands and makes an expression of proud achievement. I drink some water.
A strong young horse pulling gipsy waggon slowly passes by.'

The goal is achieved, and the voyage now makes sense,' says Pit.
'The sense lies in the motion, never in the goal. Therefore it's constant and one cannot acquire it along the way.'
Pit thinks. I sit beside him. It seems to me that I've just heard a bird sing, so I listen with more attention. Nothing. The day is too grey for birds to sing. The waggon leaves out of our sight.
'It's also important where we are going. The goal marks the end of the motion, right?'
'If you are moving, then you are moving. Transient goals come and go by themselves. The final one, the one stopping the motion, is the same for each one of us, and therefore it's not so important to bother with it,' I say.
'But the goal defines our heading, trajectory and the way we move,' Pit keeps his thought going.
'One needs to have a heading, but it's not defined by our goal.
'What is it defined by?'
'Our will power.'

'And the trajectory and the way we move?'
'They are defined by circumstances we come across, and our affinities.'
'Anyway, today is the last day of our voyage,' continues Pit.
'It means nothing at all.'
The rain drizzles a bit but not enough for us to find a better shelter.
'I believe I understand this sentence you keep repeating to me,' he says after a few minutes.
I laugh and close the lid on my water bottle.
We both inhale the fresh scent of ozone in complete silence.
'What brings tomorrow?' He asks dreamy, but more for himself.
'What brings today?' I ask in reality, but more for myself.

Actually, he understood nothing at all.
