Ask These Three Questions Instead of “How Are You?”

How are you is one line too short a question to really know how someone is really doing. You cannot get a quality conversation time with someone you're meeting for the first time or you don't expect someone to start telling you their problems when. You just ask "How are you", if you want to really know what they're carrying inside be it a problem or a joy to share, ask this questions instead:

  1. Ask lots of question.
Inarwd of just getting a reply of either yes or no from your respondent, ask lots of questions instead. Good questions instead. It shows you really want to know how they feel all round rather than just asking how are you, you can go "How far have you gone with that project", Have you read good books about it", Okay do you have people who assign you in it", all this questions will even help you make an input where you can about what they're doing or what's going on in their lives.

  2. Make big talk, not small.
"How are you" is too short instead brainstorm with the person. Make big talk. Give them more ideas to include in their report. Sometimes ask mind-blowing questions like "Where would you like to wake up tomorrow", this question could lead to a whole lot of different other subjects topics.

  3. Use the A.C.T trick.
ACT stands for authenticity, connection and topic. You can go with "What do you think about my kind of person", This question could make you explain yourself better if the answer you get doesn't define your personality at all or question like "What's your current state of mind", this question could also lead to a more interesting conversation or talk time with that person.
