Today in transit, I saw an agile, youthful guy, clad in a top, branded _"own your destiny".
He bore it alongside a bowl with which he begged alms by the roadside. My inner man yelled and almost alighted from the bus to probably physically attack the laziness in a man my peer.
In spite of personally striving to make end means for a while now, I have managed to rack up petty jobs as a writer doing sorts for seemingly laborers rate just to be square, I've also seen aged men and women as porters, masons, labourers. It was a really painful sight seeing someone fit as a fiddle, begging for alms. I was forced to ask other passengers "WHAT DESTINY IS HE OWNING, I'D RATHER SAY HE OWES HIS DESTINY AN APOLOGY".
This brief, yet insightful encounter raised a lot of questions in the endless forum and chatter going on in my head every second of the day.

What wars can be won if battles are not fought?
What yields can be made if seeds are not sown?
What riches and treasures can be earned if sweat is not spent?
What powers can we wield if we won't go where the wielders learn to swing?
We wear bands, vests, caps, carry calendars, stickers with positive declarations yet our minds and actions are negative, working against the manifestation of whatever we carry. .
I'm a winner, yet losers we are
Dominion, yet we have no kingdom
All I do is win, yet you have no trophies
Victor, languishing in the anguish of the vanguished
Cash money, Dollar funds, moribund and dumb
Let your works showcase what you carry, let your actions be a testament of what is written.
OWN YOUR DESTINY, MOULD IT, EXPRESS IT, BE IT
