The Middle Way, My Speed Record Painting. What Does It Mean To Walk The Middle Path?

by : @jankasparec

I started the Middle Way painting with a little charcoal sketch on one Wednesday night in October. It took me just few minutes. The idea of middle way was born. The humble warrior walking the Middle Path. I will talk about that later. This was the original sketch that I did with charcoal and few oil pastels. I don't aim for perfection when I sketch. I just want to see if the idea makes sense at all. It's one thing having it in the head and completely different thing seeing it on paper. Two different dimension.

On Monday morning I started to paint, on a pretty big format black canvas (60x60inches), thanks God I had one ready for use! As usually, I had a little face-off with the canvas before I put the first stroke. continue

Make the best of yourself and forget about everything else!

We live in a very hectic time. In all areas of life, you are under constant pressure to perform. A good year ago I came across a simple but simple concept that I have been using ever since. This year before that, I had a small insight: it makes a huge difference whether you perfect your performance objectively or subjectively.

An objective perfectionist is so petrified in his thinking that he only measures himself against his environment, but completely forgets himself. He doesn't go the path of least resistance, he really wants his head through the wall, even though there is an open door by the way. He has lost his thinking in such a way that he no longer perceives other paths leading to the same goal. He takes himself completely out of the game and objectively speaking, he wants to be the best. I would describe this type of person as a pathological perfectionist. He does not measure his success by himself, but by his environment, so he only pays attention to his competitors. continue

So YOU are PERFECT then?!

People’s actions are always driven by something. We may not know what that “something” is and we may never understand it fully, but that does not change the fact that it has a source. I have always been of the belief that when you are witness to an emotional outburst unfolding, perhaps even being in the firing line, that you need to remember this fact…

Holding a certain understanding for this, allows you a broader perspective and enables you to better handle the person and / or situation. In short, a little empathy and contemplative consideration can go a long way. continue

The importance of being friendly on Steemit

by : @dumar022

STORY 1

In some of the biggest cities in the world, there was a successful businessman, the boss, the director and god-like figure to his employers. He was one of the richest people in his country. He was harsh to his opponents and even more harsh to his employees. He loved high life he lived, he had few friends but they were just acting as friends. He was mocking them, making fun of them, he was rude and nobody could confront him. He was a real pain in the ass, especially for a new employee, a coffee boy. He was constantly humiliating that young man because he came from the foreign county, spoke strangely and he was too obedient. One day, the big boss smelled the business opportunity on Steemit. So he joined to the social network and started blogging. His posts were not friendly, he acted hostile to those who commented on his posts and it was very hard for him to get some real followers. Although he invested a lot in Steem Power, the most of the rewards that he got, he got from himself. He wasn't good as follower neither. He would humiliate people who posted funny stuff, photos and stories calling them "weak and unstable brains". But Steemit wasn't what he expected. He got used that everybody shows him respect and fear. In outside world, the most people he met had to "bend their knees" in front of them. But on Steemit he felt that he was equal to others. That wasn't familiar ground to him, other Steemers noticed that he is a human trash so he couldn't make any significant success, except what he gave to himself by self upvoting.
