What's buzzing, friends?

Lately, we've been taken over by cats - they're everywhere!

They grace our social media feeds, our bookshelves, and even our daily conversations. It's hard not to be taken in by their furry faces, so today, we thought we'd delve even deeper into the world of cats and explore just how special they really are. From their incredible agility and athleticism to their sharp intelligence, cats are truly one of the most impressive creatures in the animal kingdom. Humans have been enamored with them for centuries, and it's not hard to see why.

Cats have a unique way of captivating us with their mysterious personalities, providing us with endless source of entertainment, and even offering us unconditional love and affection.

This week, we will be looking at ancient Egypt and eyebrows.

In ancient Egypt, it was a common practice to show reverence and grief when one's beloved cats passed away. To honor their furry friends, many Egyptians would shave off their eyebrows as a sign of mourning. This act of memorializing one's feline companion was not only a gesture of love, but also an expression of the deep bond between humans and cats that has existed since ancient times. As cats were essential to the Ancient Egyptians in their everyday life, the method of honoring their death held special significance. You can read more about this interesting trend HERE.

Further, cats were held to a much higher standard in ancient Egypt than other animals. They were seen as gods and goddesses, so much so that it was considered a capital offense to kill one, even accidentally! It was believed that cats were divine protectors, and to kill one would anger the gods and incur their wrath. This made cats some of the most cherished and highly respected animals in Egypt, and they were even mummified and entombed in the same way royalty and important individuals were. Cats were so revered that the death penalty was even considered for those who caused the death of a cat, and a person would have to pay a hefty fine in order to be forgiven.

No need to break out the razor today, just grab a cup of Joe and enjoy the weekly roundup article below. It's a great way to get caught up on the week's news and trends while also giving you a few minutes of much-needed relaxation. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the read. :D
