Can a Liverpool FC hater be more biased / deluded? Read and laugh....

My objections to this weird article (presumably written by a jealous fan of a rival club):

The title

"Manchester - city of miracles" - PMSL :D in an article about a Liverpool player??? Aren't Liverpool's miracles a bit bigger? Hmmm.

"The world cup can make names for its players." And Salah's 'disappointing' world cup for a minnow is going to drive down his price?

GTFOOH!

Loads of players never go to world cups (hi Ryan Giggs). Did their values plummet? A great 10 months in the prem / CL or 3 great wc gp stage performances?

Doh! - give me the FORMER please

"Salah's stature was only diminished..." My hairy arse!

"Nobody was talking about paying nine figures for Firmino or Mane..."

Really? Are they depreciating too? PMSL yet again. If Coutinho is REALLY worth £140 m.... Then a crazy deal involving pool's front 3 leaving, you might as well start the bidding at 450 M. IMVHO

Prices are crazy but just not where Mane and Firmino are concerned, apparently? F*** me! :D

THAT DECISIVE NIGHT in Zurich was a secondary version of football's most foolish debate. Whenever Salah has been compared to the world's best, the consensus choice is Lionel Messi. Physically they are similar, short and left-footed, and spiritually they are, too: Salah and Messi are both less obvious about their ruthlessness than Ronaldo. Salah had looked embarrassed by his fourth goal against Watford. Ronaldo did not seem embarrassed by any of his against Girona.

Even before Ronaldo scored Portugal's first four goals at this World Cup, seeing his country easily through to the knockout round, either comparison was as idiotic as the other. Salah's own teammates have admitted as much, if more gently. "This season, he can definitely compete with them," Georginio Wijnaldum recently told ESPN. "But if you want to speak about the level of Messi and Ronaldo, a player has to do it for many more years."

Nobody is saying Salah's had a better TEN years than Ronaldo or Messi. We all know he CAN'T have had. Did he have a better single season though, last season? Some might - quite justifiably - believe that he did. Best player in the world? Depends how you look at it, really. Do you go off the player's career (therefore a young player should never be considered the best in the world) or off very recent performances?

There's a great case for either / both.

Those same circumstances could be recreated next season, but last year Salah already showed signs of fading. He seemed certain to break Ian Rush's club record for goals in a single season but fell short in the end.

Liverpool - a club of limited financial resources (remember, we don't need the 'new money' of a sugar daddy oil man) - were approaching the end of a long hard season. Their squad was decimated through injury. Chelsea managed to close a huge gap on Liverpool in the race for top 4 but failed in the end. LIVERPOOL HAD BIGGER FISH TO FRY (with their injury-hit squad). THEY HAD TO 'JUGGLE'. But top 4 seemed relatively easy. Of course, they took their foot off the pedal.

They were the last English team in the CL. They wanted to reach the final. They wanted to win it.

All with a relatively tired, injury hit squad!

Jesus! :D

In Liverpool's current system, SALAH MORE THAN WORKS. And I think I'll leave it there!

:)
