Ambrosia Maple Table With a Solid Cast Bronze Base

This is a special custom project that we’re so excited to share with you all! We were reminded on this project how profound collaboration can be for the creative process and final product… and really for business in general. One mind can never create what two or more can!

We collaborated with two businesses that helped take this table to a new level. We had the opportunity to work with a talented designer Courtney Bishop Design who had the vision for this table and how it would work in it’s space.

The table top was made from what is called “Urban Lumber” which is lumber salvaged from wood being cut down because of city development. We joined together three 2 ½ inch thick slabs of locally sourced Ambrosia Maple. We bleached the top and put a coat of Waterlox true tone color oil on it (pickled white) then 3 coats of the Waterlox satin urethane. We then burnished the top and really smoothed it out with some trade secrets we’re not quite ready to share.

Our second collaboration for this project was with Michael Oliveri Studio who designed and fabricated the one of a kind solid cast bronze base. Each leg weighs in at about 100lbs and was hand sanded and waxed. We all got chill bumps the first time we saw these beautiful pieces of art.

We are SO excited about the way this turned out and are grateful for the opportunity to work with these talented creatives.
