I am a big fan of old comics.

There is many out there that are worth a fortune. Example Spider-Man #1. Its will written by Stan and drawings by Steve Ditko. Truely a masterpiece when it comes to comics. But the holy grail will always be Supermans first appearance in Action #1. A 9.0 would fetch 7 million at Sotheby’s auction. Not the best drawings, or story for that matter, but never the less it is Superman. Something all of us know to well. These are classified as the golden age of comic books. We were children when we bought them , but now not many can afford a nice comic to read, as the art, paper, etc is so expensive. I can understand this. Many hero’s from the past are today’s mentors for new artists such as Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, etc.

It was a great time for most guys. Having a pocket full of change and going to our local 7-11 to buy a comic, slurped, and a bag of chips. Setting down in the shade pretty much anywheres. Drop our bikes, and spending an hour reading it over and over again. Oh the simple times.

In today’s market just like everything we ever bought and thrown away (big mistake that was) and wished we kept them.
I am glad that a good handful did keep them. But to buy them, hands and knees to the wife. Let’s see now , probably $600 can get you a first appearance in the Xmen. If you do end up in this collecting, be prepared to one, be addicted, two spend a lot of cash. I did and never looked back. Goldage and Silverage were my forte.

I have lots of great books and original drawings by artists. But one and only one stands up on my wall frame professionally by my good friend in California. Beautiful piece graded by CGC in a 9.4. But if you took it out and pressed it, easy 9.6 or 9.8. First appearance of Wolverine. My ultimate character. A 9.8 can fetch you $40K. But in 10 years , be worth 1 million easy. Look at eBay, and if you want a comic, try to stick to graded books. They come with graded logo, plus plastic you cannot get apart. Put it in a beautiful frame Let it stay there so you can admire it each day. Stay with ones you like, don’t follow hype, just like crypto right? Do your own research. Pays off.

Favorite movie was Logan. Great story, first appearance of the Reevers which I liked and X23 comes into the picture. The next one is Dakken ....Cool looking front cover. See if you can find one in good condition as once 8DAEACC9-C767-42C1-85B8-563B82C02C39.jpeghe hits the theatres, it’s to late to buy it.

Well a little lesson in comics. Hope you enjoyed it.
