Es ist jetzt doch eingetreten, was ich ursprünglich befürchtet habe. Ein Wikipedia-Admin hat alle Editoren der Seite Steem verwarnt, und mir im Speziellen angedroht, wenn ich weitere Edits auf Steem mache, mir meine Edit-Rechte ohne Vorwarnung zu entziehen.

Weiters hat dieser Admin eine Editier-Sperre auf die Seiten Steem und Steemit für nicht erweitert bestätigte User verhängt, d.h. normale User können die Seiten jetzt überhaupt nicht mehr editieren, was die Sanktionsandrohung ins Leere laufen lässt, da den normalen Wikipedia-Usern die Editiermöglichkeit de facto bereits entzogen wurde.
Finde das ziemlich krass und es bestätigt auch ein bisschen mein Vorurteil, dass Wikipedia ein eher feindseliges Terrain ist. Ich möchte, dass man mich an meinen Edits beurteilt und nicht, wer ich bin und welche potentiellen Interessenskonflikte ich womöglich habe.
Es stimmt, dass ich nicht ganz unbefangen bin und ein legitimes persönliches Interesse habe, dass es einen korrekten und ausgewogenen Artikel auf Wikipedia zu Steem und Steemit gibt, aber mich nicht an der Korrektur und Verbesserung eines Artikels teilhaben zu lassen, ist schon ziemlich unverschämt und das Gegenteil einer freien Plattform, zumal ich ehrlich auf die Frage, ob ich Steem halte, geantwortet habe und auch wie verlangt eine entsprechende IK-Offenlegung gepostet habe.
Es liegt einfach in der Natur der Sache einer Online-Enzyklopädie, dass hier viele unterschiedliche Interessen aufeinanderprallen. Das ist normal und führt auch zu heftigen Diskussionen. Aber User von der Bearbeitung einfach auszuschließen, die persönlich von Falschinformationen oder dem Fehlen von Informationen auf Wikipedia betroffen sind, ist nicht in Ordnung.
Aber freuen wir uns jetzt trotzdem, dass wir dank des starken und extrem mühsamen Community-Einsatzes der letzten Woche (und Jahre) jetzt doch einen verbesserten und ausgewogenen Artikel auf Wikipedia haben. Und keine Sorge, ich gebe nicht so schnell auf.

What I originally feared has happened after all. A Wikipedia admin has warned all editors of Steem, and in particular threatened me, if I make further edits on Steem, to withdraw my edit rights without further warning.

Furthermore, this admin has imposed an edit lock on the Steem and Steemit pages for not extended confirmed users, i.e. normal users can no longer edit the pages at all now, which leaves the sanction threat in the void, since normal Wikipedia users like me are already de facto banned from editing those affected pages.
I think that's pretty gross and it also confirms my prejudice that Wikipedia is a rather hostile terrain. I want to be judged by my edits and not by who I am and what potential conflicts of interest I might have.
It's true that I'm not completely unbiased and have a legitimate personal interest, that there's a correct and balanced article on Wikipedia about Steem and Steemit, but not to be allowed to get involved in correcting and improving an article is quite harsh and the opposite of a free platform, especially since I honestly answered the question of whether I'm holding the cryptocurrency and posted a corresponding COI declaration as required.
It is simply in the nature of an online encyclopedia that many different interests clash here. This is normal and also leads to heated discussions. But to simply exclude users from the debate who are personally affected by potential false information or the lack of information on Wikipedia is not okay.
But let's be glad for now that we have an improved and balanced article on Wikipedia thanks to the strong and extremely tedious community effort of the past week (and years). And don't worry, I won't give up so easily.
