What I Am Saying

I have three things to say. Just three.

  • The key to success is focus
The need and desire to succeed and make it in life has made us pursue too many things at the same time, trying to get successful before we turn thirty or forty, or ninety. We forget that it is by channeling our energies into a particular pursuit that we achieve it excellently.
There is one thing we need to do at every given time, just one thing. It should be focused on, and pursued with all our strength, and then when it is achieved, we can move on to the next thing. Those who multitask are usually best friends with fatigue, and rarely have excellence as a watchword.

  • Each gives what he has
Sometimes, we are bothered by how we are treated, and think the gifts received are a reflection of what or who we are, but life has taught me that it is not true. If I want to help you, no matter how much or benevolent my intentions are, I can't give more than what I have. Also, if I tell you insulting words, it is not a reflection of who you are, even if it happens that you are bad, what I say is a reflection of what is within me even if it was triggered.
A gun will only give off a bullet if it has one within it. No bullet, no shot, no matter how hard the trigger is pulled.

  • Your relevance is important (But it is not a measure of your worth)
Many times we hear of someone being laid off when there is a massive retrenchment, and we hear of someone who was not laid off. In such scenarios, taking away the possibility of favoritism, it shows that the man laid off was not considered relevant in that present situation of the company. When you are relevant, you will be kept around. There is always time for what is considered relevant. Always.
However, relevance is not always recognized or appreciated. A block of ice will not be useful to the man dying of cold, in fact at that point, that is the last sight he wants to see. But to the man coming in from the scorching heat of the sun, the ice block is like a saving grace.
The worth of the ice never reduced or increased, it was same, but the person who needed it appreciated and used it.

This Poem I wrote summarizes the last point...

Fire...
To the Arsonist
To the Blacksmith
To the Firefighter
... It means different things.

You...
To those who love you
To those who need you
To those who hate you
... You mean different things.

Sometimes it is not you... it's how they see you

I have many things to say, but these would do for now...

  • The key to success is focus
  • Each gives what he has
  • Your relevance is important (but it is not a measure of your worth)
