Sometimes, mother nature tries to screw with the #wednesdaywalk in these parts. Such is one of those times as this picture is what is going on now. It doesn't look so bad as the snow has let up, making way for 12 hours of freezing rain in the overnight forecast.
But I am getting ahead of myself.
Business Steps
It turned out to be a day of cancelled and postponed meetings. First, a coffee meeting bumped 'til tomorrow. So I walked a couple blocks over to visit another client. The Den https://thedenstratford.com is a fun hobby shop that recently changed locations. I was dropping by to snap some more photos and you can see the snow was just starting to fall. It was still warm and the flakes were melting out front of the store.
I was looking through the product photos to see what would be fun to share and the NHL (Hockey) mascots were pretty funny. The Flyers mascot is named Gritty and he is the funniest of all. So many neat sports and games in this store. I should put together a @town-crier marketing post with some more neat stuff.
Chamber of Commerce Meeting
The snow really started to pour on which was a blessing as I was able to get a bit more office time to finish proposals and book some business. Another couple appointments were cancelled or postponed and I had one engagement left. The monthly chamber of commerce meeting. Normally these are attended by 40+ local entrepreneurs and business people. I thought perhaps they might cancel this meeting too so that everyone would not have to venture out on the snowy/soon to be icy roads. Then I remembered the January meeting that went on during a blizzard and headed there anyhow.
There were only about a dozen attendees which made it a more intimate affair. The business was a day-care/learning center run by a couple of the ladies on the right. In the middle directing ceremonies is Eddie the general manager of the chamber of commerce, and it appears that he is pointing to Martin the mayor of our town dressed in the black suit. Good guy doing a great job being out there and engaged his first few months as new mayor.
Let's Golf Instead!
When all was said and done, it was time to once again pretend there was no weather warning at the end of a day when so much business was postponed. Time to hit the country club and pretend to walk 10k steps at St Andrew's Golf club in the summer. It was my buddy Steve's birthday and he had never been indoor golfing so we had to. I miraculously golfed a 104 and the old course at St Andrews is nothing to sneeze at. Hopefully this spells a good summer of golf with plenty of real 10k+ steps @actifit days.
