A short, and cold, #wednesdaywalk down to the river

I was able to take myself on a #wednesdaywalk yesterday, and though it was windy and cold I still made it to a nice spot, let's check it out.

I parked just up the street from the Columbia River and had to walk under Interstate 84 through this bridge. When it's dark the glass blocks on either side here light up and fade through colors.

Popping out the other side the river is ahead and there is a dock to the left that is used for the riverboats that cruise up and down the river all summer. In fact there are some local folks that dress up in 1800s period clothes and such to welcome the boat xD

Out at the end of the pier is a crane that I've never seen in use ¯\(ツ)

The wind was really ripping yesterday and the clouds were rolling in. The above shot is looking west down the river and if you zoom in you can see a red and white towboat waiting for a barge to be filled with wheat.

Let's zoom in on that scene.

Also, just behind the rigging there above the barge is the restaurant I use to work at. In fact, if you've followed me for any length of time here you have seen plenty of snaps of the river from that spot.

Just time for a quick snap looking east, upriver. It's getting cold out here and I have some errands to run.

Thanks for coming along, see you next time :)
