I was struck by the balance these narcissi achieved between the ornate and elegant. If flowers were fashion plates this take on the daffodil would be one. Botanists stitched together the stylings of Coco Chanel with Dior and created flower couture. Okay! I'm going overboard but I was quite taken with this little bloom and it paused my Wednesday walk for more than a few moments.

The city is wearing yellow. This early in spring, most days, it's raining in Vancouver. The sunny display of flowers helps enliven the grey. Businesses and office towers join in and it is a flower lover's paradise.

No Wednesday Walk is complete without a look up and look more yellow. Quite a fan of this year's spring banners for Robson Street. They will soon be obscured behind green leaves but for now they set the mood perfectly. Everything is looking sunny and new again on the streets of Vancouver.
