These little shrubs are actually Shiba Zakura, just waiting to be planted. Lucy the Dog and I ended up a park deep, deep in the middle of nowhere that, at the moment, is just barren shrubs and empty pathways. But, by the end of next month, these same barren shrubs will flower with beautiful pink blooms and the pathways will be so full of people that walking on them will be all but impossible. Such is life.

You can see what I mean. There's just not much there at the moment; the workers in the middle of the frame are helping to plant the zakura shrubs. This view, by the way, comes from the tower in the next photo.

I'm really looking forward to being able to post another #wednesdaywalk from the same park in about a month.

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that the end of winter is construction season in Japan. That's doubly true for seasonal parks like one. Each one of those blue or yellow spots is a massive earth-moving vehicle helping to prepare a new walking path for taking in the flowers. Can't wait to be able to show it to you.

Thanks for reading.
