Treed on Tuesday with a Wednesday Walk

With you, but alone
The night almost gone
Stealing your darkness
Into the day
The needs of my soul, my heart, my desire

Let there be light in my soul, for as far as I can see

The light has barely thought about visiting this morning, having a time of it getting up and going. Nevertheless, it begins, with open arms, welcoming us into this day.

Today is #WednesdayWalk with @Tattoodjay. It was a challenge started by him to get people up and moving, all the while, looking for something to photograph. You can find his current post here! along with the rules guidelines to the challenge. It's all the rage! Everyone is doing it!

Let me grow in the vision of love and delight.
Here as I sit upon the trail of life, ambling along.
For the sake of none.

Go ahead.
Hug me.
You know you want to.

I like to wander the neighborhood when it is barely light. There are always people strolling about. The seasonal changes are just beginning as some of the flowers begin the process of throwing out their seeds. I try to save some for next years plantings and some, I just give back to nature, letting them sprout wherever she plants them.

Touch me. Feel how I feel.
It begs me to run my hands along the texture of the bark.
There are so many ways.
To describe how it feels.
Rough, scaly, beautiful, to only name a few.

It was the start of a wonderful day. The temperature was nearly perfect, with a hint of rain to come in the air. Yesterday was #TreeTuesday with @Old-Guy-Photos! Oh, not bad enough to miss #MonochromeMonday, but then Tuesday too? Ugh! Be real! I like to start the day or end the day with a walk/run through the neighborhood, but, today I will be happy for a walk.

Even the trees are friendly in my neighborhood. I wave good morning back to him. Oh, you know him!! That is my knight, standing tall and guarding my thoughts. Just like always.

It doesn't get any more summer than this. I cannot help but smile as I see the freshly dewed honeysuckle. Intoxicating!

Do you see the bull? He will chase me down. I don't see him, but, I know he is lurking somewhere out there! Oh, I have learned this lesson! Empty pasture means there is a bull hiding in there somewhere. No Bueno. I will skip the shortcut and take the road less traveled. Because we all cut through. But, I have come around to having a healthy respect for bulls.

I bend down to tie my shoe and notice a bit of sun shining in my eyes. Don't you just love how flowers brighten up the day with a spot of color? This picture is dedicated to #WednesdayYellow #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra, who colors my world, every single day.

Today is clean up day for the neighbor. I have been conditioned to doing mine on the weekend, or closer to it. He was up and out doing his yard before the sun barely had a chance to heat up the sidewalks. I do like that there is a lot of pride in ownership here. I see him coming with the weed wacker now. Hey!! Can you do mine too? Sometimes he does mine across the front of my yard if it looks like I haven't had time for it. Some days, I have done his for the same reason. Who doesn't want to have a neighbor like that? I see the neighbors more than my relatives.

Look up to the sky!

So the joy may touch your soul

As always, keep on singing that song!! And just like that, this post is done. Thank you for stopping by and saying hello, leaving your words behind... and just so you know, although much sun and shine were used up today, I can guarantee that there is still a little left in my heart. Have a most fabulous day! And keep on Forking! That never gets old!

Thank you for visiting my post 💖 Because of you, I come back to post, again and again. Keep it classy, people. Kindness counts. Wherever you go, whatever you do.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.

they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?

i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.

later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,

"everywhere"
"everywhere"
"everywhere"
