Well, I'd say that is a long-hand way of expressing the same thing. I will pet any cats that come to me sounds a lot better than I will pet any group of cats that come to me. In this case, any is modifying cats in such away that the number of cats is in question, or ambiguous. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
