Nine Months Later: Patrick Rambles on the Basemodel M2 MacBook Air

According to Patrick Rambles' channel, nine months ago, he picked up the basemodel M2 MacBook Air to review for his tech-focused channel. He decided to order the base model as larger channels were dropping videos about how terrible it was, and to see what it was capable of for the average person. In the initial review, Patrick faced some criticism about the performance of the MacBook Air, but he continued to stand by his opinion of the device.

After nine months of use, Patrick states the design of the device is still stunning, especially in the midnight color he chose. However, it smudges, scratches, and chips easily, requiring careful maintenance. Patrick uses a Harbor London zippered sleeve to protect his MacBook Air, which has a soft and thick lining to prevent scratches. Additionally, he notes that the MacBook Air is extremely lightweight, which makes it easy to transport with a downside of being easily knocked over.

In terms of the display, the liquid Retina display is nice, but it doesn't come close to the liquid Retina xdr display on the MacBook Pro lineup. The MacBook Air's display has a 60-hertz refresh rate and tops out at 500 nits, which is great for indoor use but not ideal in bright sunlight. Lastly, for Patrick, the ideal use case for the MacBook Air is as an actual laptop, to take on trips and commutes, and hook up to the office's hub and monitor at the end of the day.
