On October 3, 1951, New York Giant Bobby Thomson hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the National League Pennant against the Brooklyn Dodgers and go on to the World Series.
This dramatic play became known as “The Shot Heard ‘Round The World.”
