Love

This is one of the most sought after by all humans. We crave it, we want it, we desire it yet most of us don’t fully understand what it stands for or what means.

Yes, we might assume we fully understand it because at one point or the other we feel what we think is called love but most times it turns out to be lust.

We need to understand what love truly is and the types of love we have before we can make any attempt at understanding what love is.

We have all heard about Romeo and Juliet type of love based on a novel written by Shakespeare and we feel that’s a fine example of love, yet it’s malady to me not even close to love.

From the Christianity perspective, they would define love as a selfless sacrifice by telling you about Jesus giving himself up to death to wash away their sin (That is something that still debatable).

What is love?

I would not make an attempt at defining it because it is a very big subject matter but I will try as much as possible to tell a story which might show you what truly love is.

A very long time ago, before we had the industrial age. A man named Drula set out from his homeland to seek fortune in a more prosperous faraway land he had heard about. He sold all he had and left his friends and family behind. On reaching the first town on his way, he met a land ravaged by famine and disease. He looked all around himself and thought should he continue his journey without helping those people and but he was moved with compassion and decided to help them with the little out of his funds, went to a nearby market bought different herbs and fruits, taught them how to till the ground, make irrigation farming and plant. He also set up an infirmary too which looks after the sick people, thereby changing the fortune of this land. He gave up his dream of becoming rich to helping people in need and that is what I call love.

Love is a virtue representing human kindness, compassion and affection, as the unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of other.
