I have three children. This year, my second daughter will be in junior high school. She is accepted at MTSn Setu Bekasi.
Schooling is free in my district until children finish junior high. Junior school is three years of school. After junior high school, children should enter senior high school or vocational school.
Senior school or vocational school is not free in Bekasi. There is a monthly fee, though, in state schools. However, the fee is not higher than at private schools.
The schooling system in Indonesia is 12 years old.
Primary school is 6 years, junior school is 3 years, and senior school is 3 years. After senior high school, children can go to work or continue their studies at universities.
The children have studied normally. There are no cofidiot rules anymore. Students usually enter the class at 7 or 8 in the morning. They will finish class at 12 or 14 o'clock.
After school, children like to play outside. It is normal for Indonesian kids to play around the neighborhood. They can play ball or ride their bikes. They get social with their peers.
This school year is going to be the first year for my second daughter in junior school. I hope she will adapt quickly to her new friends and school environment.
