Vimm.TV | Rewards Distribution, New Features, Backers Tiers

We’re happy to share some of the new features that have been added to Vimm.TV along with some valuable information for everyone interested in contributing to the project. Whether you’re a content creator, an investor or simply someone who likes to watch live streams, this blog will help you better understand the Vimm ecosystem.

Rewards Distribution
To insure sustainability of the platform, we have to make sure that everyone who plays a role in supporting the project gets properly rewarded. With this distribution model, we’re hoping to create a healthy ecosystem for everyone involved. Whether you’re a streamer, a viewer or an investor.
Author Rewards (57%)
The streamer is the one putting in the hard work to host entertaining live streams and bring an audience on the platform. This is why authors will bring home most of the rewards.
Curators Rewards (25%)
Viewers are what bring value and energy to a live stream. To encourage engagement, 25% of the rewards for each broadcast is distributed to curators (the viewers who upvote a broadcast).
Delegation Payouts (9%)
SP Delegation is an easy way to invest in the Vimm.TV project and receive automated payouts based on the size of the delegation and recent performance. Delegators and investors are the people who make it possible for us to reward streamers with juicy upvotes and to keep improving our infrastructure.
Vimm Fund (9%)
This 9% goes directly towards the SP of Vimm to raise voting power for the streams and posts we upvote.
Delegators
The main idea on redistributing a portion of post rewards back to delegators is to raise our voting power for the streams we upvote.
By redistributing a portion of the payout on Vimm livestreams to Delegators, we hope to make delegation more appealing to our supporters by offering automated income, which in turn will raise the Vimm account’s voting power to offer larger upvotes to our live streamers. Delegation payouts are sent to @Vimm.pool, powered down, and automatically sent from @Vimm.pool to our Delegators in Steem.

Vimm Fund
Part of the stream payout is distributed back to Vimm in the form of SP to offer higher payout on the streams and posts that we upvote on. We hope to grow our own SP so we don’t have to solely rely on Delegators to fund our Voting Power. None of the payout is liquid or being used to pay for servers or development costs, and we don’t plan to power down anytime soon. Since our last blog, a total 3 updates have been pushed to Vimm.TV
V0.1.18 (Aug 5)
- Fix bug where is_live would sometimes not be set to false when a streamer disconnects.
- Automatic posting to Steem (recurring check)*
*Up to 1 post per 2 hours of streaming.
V0.1.19 (Aug 7)
- Channel Hosting Implemented
V0.1.20 (Aug 9)
- UI Improvements for the new hosting feature
- Added embed code to integrate your stream to your blog/website
- Cleaned up channel layout
