Donald Trump, the Dunning-Kruger Effect and more

This is a controversial video - you've been warned.

Narrated by the inimitable Stephen Fry, this video by Pindex touches upon a lot of issues. Starting with the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Only a skilled person can accurately gauge their skill level, while an unskilled person suffers from illusory superiority. In other words, the lack of knowledge and experience also leads to an inability to know how knowledgeable you really are.

Also discussed are salience bias - where the most negative events stick in our perception; and the mere exposure effect - where people believe an idea is accurate merely because they are familiar with it.

It also reminds us about how our world is getting better all the time - one of my favourite topics I have covered in multiple posts previously.

Of course, it ties it all into the phenomenon that is Donald Trump.

It's a pretty riveting video, though one that will be both loved and hated.
