XVG have dropped a few balls recently, lost coins and broken wallets. The loss of their hosting site and unhappy clients seeking answers as to why they lost coins.
According to a Verge dev' member, the site was donated, therefore, once it was retracted, they had no way of recovering the coins.
Like all things, a little bit of time makes a difference. If you ask me, it'll blow over, their recent news in a link up with IOS CoinPouch has been a positive move forward and it is now available.

The best thing for me is the seemingly established and growing community, short of a large marketing campaign, XVG has built on reputation and word of mouth - or type of fingers.
Looking at today, the total max circulation of coins looks like it will be reached by Q2 if 2018, (should it continue on the current trajectory), and the daily volume is rising. Last 24 hours has seen 775BTC worth or $2.9 million. This coin is not dying, it is distributing. Check out their Black paper from June 2017;

I think over time XVG will escape this recent wallet blip, and already shows signs of recovery with the CoinPouch hookup. It is still low enough to go on forward, and push up to at least $0.50 by Q3 in 2018. If you buy now at 75 Satoshis, in the tens of thousands, it won't break the bank, but may make it. Low risk, long term. Maybe a surprise too... Worth a Hold.
