This contribution is a result of collaboration with the project owner who needed a logo for his open source project and my desire to help him. It's not a task requested by Utopian.

Details
The mission of the Homeless Children's Playtime Project is to nurture healthy child development and reduce the effects of trauma among children living in temporary housing programs in Washington, DC.
Playtime seeks to create a city that provides every opportunity for children in families experiencing homelessness to succeed by ensuring consistent opportunities to play and learn, offering support services for families, and advocating for affordable housing and safe shelter.
The goal of this application is to allow supporters to donate toys and other items that help advance the work of Playtime Project's work in family shelters throughout DC. This application will allow donors to view the organization's Amazon wish lists, add items, track contributions, and aid staff in following up with donors.
This project had already the logo and I was asked by the PO to re-design it retaining its main idea - a home. I prepared a proposal with two main options and different color schemes. After all, the first one was selected for a new logo.

Benefits / Improvements
The purpose of my proposal was to help this open source project to improve its visual identity. I used a simple idea, which has recognizable forms and it's easy to remember. This new logo makes the project visually appealing. It unites two main ideas of the project – children and home - and it can be adapted to different environments. The project owner was very pleased with the result of my work and he’s already updated the project with a new logo.
