SteemMakers is a community which focuses on uniting, helping and rewarding makers and DIYers on the Steem blockchain. You can find more info about us and how to contact us on our website steemmakers.com.

We are SteemMakers, not artists or graphic designers. We made a logo ourselves based on this design but we were not completely satisfied with it and decided to make this contest. You are completely free to design whatever you like but we have some requirements that we would like to see met.

For both the logo and the banner:

• You must resteem and upvote this post.
• Make sure we know about your entry. We encourage you to use Utopian for your entry but that makes it harder for us to keep track of everything. Add a link to your entry in the comments!
• The end goal is to have a design which is scalable without distortion. Your drawings must be in vector format and be able to be opened in open-source editing software such as for example InkScape. If you don’t have the skills to make a vector drawing you must make your design in such a way that we can easily convert it.
• The design must match the content we focus on. For more details check our mission and audience on the about page. We don't want the design to focus on a subgroup like electronics or 3d printing. We want it to be general enough to cover the whole audience. Maybe something with a technology element? Something related to the (Steem) blockchain?
• SeemMakers is open-source. By competing in the contest you hand over all rights to SteemMakers or use you have to use a license which allows SteemMakers to use and change your logo free of charge. Your work must be genuine and can’t copy the design from any other source unless you own the rights.
• You must use the steemmakers tag on your post.
• You must add some documentation about the design. Why you chose it, what it stands for, why it is a good logo for SteemMakers, ....

The logo

• The logo will be used at different places and at different scales. It will be used for example at the top left corner of our website and for the steem account. Take care that it fits in the round area that steemit.com uses for the account thumbnail.

• The logo must not contain gradients. We are looking for a logo that integrates nicely with our website color theme but can also easily be changed to other colour themes. We require an example that fits the current color theme.

• We focus on an adaptive website and thus we are looking for a dynamic logo. You need to provide examples of how we can use larger and smaller versions of the logo. This means that the logo should work when the website is shown on a mobile phone as well as on a desktop browser. We require at least a small variant that can be used for mobile experience and for example in small avatars (think steemit.com, busy.org, discord, …) and a big version that includes our slogan "Your reward for making it". The banner

• We are looking for a banner which we can use at our steemit.com page
• Here you are completely free, gradients are allowed, focussing on many subgroups is allowed
• Obviously we prefer a theme that corresponds with steemmakers.com

What’s in it for you?

Since SteemMakers is an open-source project we encourage you to make your entries using Utopian.io. Utopian will reward every entry so everybody gets something out of this contest. You can make as many entries as you please but separate entries must be sufficiently different to apply for a reward.

On top of that we plan to reward the winner(s) something extra. We are thinking in the range of a 50 USD prize. We have no idea how many entries we will get and we will adjust the reward accordingly.

The winner(s) will also be featured on our site and in communication where applicable if he/she desires so.

Depending on the amount of entries the contest will run for two weeks.
