Let's Add Search Label to Steemit's Search Icon!
I always find it a struggle to search users or important blogs that I wanted to search and I think the search icon there needs to be innovated. We need to add Search Label on that search icon on the upper-right side of Steemit. I am proposing this idea/feature and decided it will be a contribution for @utopian-io :
Introducing Search Labels
For us to be able to distinguish the benefit of adding this feature, I think it would be best if we describe first the behavior of the existing search engine. Here's the thing it can offer us :
- We need to click that search icon for us to search for users or a certain blog for a purpose
- We will be redirected to search website incorporated by Google and it allows us to do the searching. The problem is our Steemit site will be replaced by the search site. It should be via new tab which is also part of this proposition.
The significance of adding this feature to the existing search protocol of Steemit are the following :
- It allows users to directly search on the Steemit site, by inputting the keywords on the SEARCH LABELS. So instead clicking on the search icon, user just needs to type and the hit enter.
- There isn't a need to be redirected to the page to search no more initially. Because the feature has been embedded on the site itself.
- When a user hits enter, a new tab will be made which will redirect us to search site. This makes us retain the Steemit site.
The Current Search Icon
Seen above is the Current Search Icon, and as you noticed it only gives us the icon, located at the upper-right site of the Screen (beside Post button). Even some users cannot be able to see that and always have struggle in finding them. It also needs to be improved and as what I've mentioned above, there are disadvantage of the current search icon and the convenience it can give to the users if it will be implemented.
There may still be other significant effects when we add search labels, I see a lot. I just couldn't think of it as for this moment. I believe, this will be a big help to the platform.
