Bug Hunting: How to Write a Good Bugs Title

Today I want to write a tutorial about how to write a good bugs title. When we found any bugs, the first step actually is search for duplicate bugs so we will not wasting time if someone submitted the same bug before. I would recommend everyone here create a good title with all important information about the bugs. This will save bug hunters, moderators and developers time.

Format for Good title for Bug Hunting:

  1. Apps/Web Site - Section - Description of Bugs
  2. Device/Browser - Section - Description of Bugs

Example of Good title for Bug Hunting:

  1. Steemit FAQ - Some Question Not Clickable
  2. Steemit Homepage - Error 404 when Click On Login
  3. Win10/IE11 - Infinite Loading When Open Steemit.com (Very Useful when Happen to specific Device/Browser)

Bad Title for Bug Hunting :

  1. I found few bugs
  2. The button is not working
  3. Page Not Loading

Example:

Tittles above can be improved:

  1. Bug Hunting - Concern on Updating Account Setting
  • This tittle can improved by mention what concern in Account Setting such as "Steemit Account Setting - Unable to Update Profile URL"
  1. New Bug - Problem with The Edit
  • This tittle can improved by mention what section the bugs located because a user can edit a post, edit a comment, edit a profile. The bug title also need to specific what is the edit problem. For example, "Steemit Post - Unable Edit Picture URL."
  1. 1st Time Using Steemiz.io - My Suggestion to @ najoh to Fix The Bugs and Add Some Features
  • This post should separate suggestions and bugs. Bugs is Bugs, Suggestion is Suggestion. Both are totally different things.
