I posted an experimental post that has generated lots of comments and upvotes, but has earned very little earnings.

I've been doing a lot of research and I believe it is it basically that the only people upvoting are n00bs, too, and hence due to steemit voting power I'm not gaining much in earning. As much as I think I have it figured, I want to get clarification from someone who can say for sure... I spent quite a bit today researching and even was able to put together an article concerning what I learned about Steem Voting Power, but I'm not 100% sure I've got my head around it. I feel like I'm missing something, but maybe I'm simply over thinking it.
Can someone validate that I am correct in my assumptions?
