United Airlines...Are Their Staff Actually Awake?

The reason I ask this is because they sent a passenger flying from New Jersey USA to Paris France, nothing unusual there, but they got it WRONG. They actually sent her to San Francisco California. How is that possible, well here is the story.

The passenger a French national, flew almost 5,000 kilometers (3,000 miles) completely in the wrong direction after not being informed of a gate change.

The passenger who does not speak English, was supposed to travel from Newark Airport New Jersey to Paris France but when United Airlines announced a gate change to her flight she did not understand it.

United staff failed to check the ticket destination when it was presented at the boarding gate and let the passenger board a plane heading to San Francisco. The staff also did not notice the mistake when the passenger's supposed seat was occupied, so she was just moved to a vacant seat, not noticing that the passenger was in fact on the wrong flight going nowhere near where she wanted to end up (remember she wants to land in Paris).

After traveling 4,800 kilometers to California, the passenger due to the mistake was forced to wait for 11 hours for the United Airlines to fix the situation.

More than a day after leaving Newark the passenger finally reached Paris, United Airlines did what would be expected in such a situation, they refunded the price of her ticket and also gave the passenger a voucher for another trip to Newark. Something tells me that passenger will not be using the voucher.... maybe not United Airlines again either, would you.
