Knot Forgotten Ulog #8

Last night, I went to a crochet workshop at a local church in support of the Knot Forgotten Initiative organised by Open Doors Australia.

Open Doors works to strengthen and prepare Christians living in countries where being a Christian cost the most.

Knot Forgotten's aim is to share the love of Jesus with displaced children around the word through hand crocheted and knitted toys. It connects over 300 makers from more than 30 countries involved in creating and donating Knot Forgotten toys. This year, the toys will be distributed to children living as refugees, specifically in Syria and Iraq.

Knot Forgotten believes that each toy serves as a reminder to these children that they are not forgotten and that they are very loved.

What a wonderful initiative and I'm so glad to have heard Justine's testimony and experience (She shared how she started Chubby Knots, a crochet business but was struggling with drugs and anorexia at the time. Justine's volunteer work with Open Doors led her in a very personal faith journey and now Knot Forgotten is very close to her heart) :

"Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these" Mark 10:14

Check out these sweet photos of the children receiving their special crochet toys:

I'm not a crochet maker but I am very interested to learn now!

Are you a crochet maker? Would you like to join this fulfilling project?
