I am born into a family that would be described as that of the middle class only in the city of Orlu. Attended one of the local community primary school from kindergarten to SSCE and left the city for the first time after my SSCE.

MY ORLU STORY

We ORLU BORN AND BRED are taken for granted because of our ratty environment which is described as unsafe for a growing child. It is described as the worst place to train a child morally, academically and all that but the truth is that, if you passed through this static environment then you are entitled to greatness. We grew up with no school bus to take us to and fro school thus we are athletes. We grew up with no TV to watch Canteens yet we are not snubs and rated the best in socialization, we grew up in a dilapidated environment yet we are clean freaks, we grew up with no knowledge of amazement parks but we created it with our feet join together THAT'S THE ORIGIN OF TEAM WORK, we grew up without the knowledge of dress sense but we gonna snatch your hubby/wife when we put that two okirika together.

"EDUCATION IS ZERO IN ORLU" but I am here to burst your bubbles, I am here to shake your table and trust me when I say you will have no choice but to attach yourself in our table, the table of great Orlu people. You think I've gat nothing right? then you've not met: I will like to mention only four prominent men in Orlu IMO state.

ROCHA'S OKOROCHA. THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF IMO STATE.

It should come as no surprise as to why Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, a politician is doing on this list. He is a multi-billionaire and the current governor of Imo state. Born 22 September 1962, he has a lot of companies and his assets run into billions of dollars. It was said that he is the current richest politician in Nigeria and might even be the current richest man in Imo state. Okorocha’s net worth is estimated at $1.4 billion

PASCAL DOZIE. THE FOUNDER DIAMOND BANK PLC

The second wealthy man in Imo state who stands above the rest is PASCAL GABRIEL DOZIE. Born on 9th April, 1939, this successful business man is a native of Egbu. He is known to never have worked for anyone but still became rich. He is the founder and former Chairman of DIAMOND BANK PLC, a top Nigerian bank. He is also the Chairman and owner of Kunoch Limited. He has other companies to his name. His net worth is estimated at $1.1 billion

TONY EZENNA. THE CEO ORANGE DRUGS LIMITED

Second on the list of richest men in Imo state is Chief Sir Tony Ezenna. He hails from Akokwa in Imo State. He is the founder and owner of Orange Drugs Limited, a multi billion conglomerate. It is the company that produces the popular Delta Soup, Boska e.t.c we all know. He is among the few Igbo men to have a national honour conferred upon. Tony Ezenna net worth is estimated at $1 billion

LEO STAN EKEH. THE CEO OF ZINOX TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED.

The last wealthy business man from Imo state in my list is Leo Stan who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zinox Technologies Ltd. and Buyright Africa Dotcom Limited. According to Wikipedia, it is believed that he pioneered IT Solutions in West Africa through his company ITEC Solutions Limited through which he has delivered the largest IT Solutions ever, from an indigenous firm, to the Nigerian Corporate Market. His net worth is estimated at $995 million.

It is time for us to define Orlu and not let it define us, It is time for us to admit that we grew up there because it only signified that we created our own connection.
