В центрі Львова знаходиться старовинний вірменський собор Успіння Пресвятої Богородиці, який включений в перелік пам'яток світової спадщини ЮНЕСКО. Це єдиний храм вірменської апостольської церкви на Західній Україні.
In the center of Lviv is the ancient Armenian Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, which is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This is the only church of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Western Ukraine.
Вірменська церква спочатку була побудована в 1363-1370 роках майстром Дорінгом. Храм неодноразово перебудовувався та змінювався. Остання суттєва перебудова здійснена в 1908-1927 роках архітектором Франциском Мончинським.
The Armenian Church was first built in 1363-1370 by Master Doring. The temple was repeatedly rebuilt and changed. The last significant reconstruction was carried out in 1908-1927 by the architect Franciszek Monczynski.
В часи більшовицької влади храм був закритий, а структура церкви розпущена. Майже всі вірмени були змушені виїхати в Польщу, а деякі священнослужителі були заарештовані. В різні часи після цього тут знаходилась картинна галерея і музей імені Леніна. У 2000 році собор і весь найближчий комплекс були передані вірменській общині.
During the Bolshevik rule, the church was closed and the church structure was dissolved. Almost all Armenians were forced to leave for Poland, and some clergy were arrested. At various times after that, there was a picture gallery and museum named after Lenin. In 2000, the cathedral and the entire complex were transferred to the Armenian community.
