Think outside the box

Which hemisphere do you like to draw with, right or left? The left one is responsible for logic, the right one is for creativity. At least this is what Nobel Prize Laureate Roger Sperry thought that many people have a left brain dominant and logic prevails over feelings. Although many other scientists deny this fact

This idea was supported by Betty Edwards in her book Discover the Artist in You. Wikipedia writes about this:
“The essence of the method of right hemisphere drawing is to temporarily suppress the work of the left hemisphere and transfer the leading role in drawing to the right one, which is more suitable for this activity. The work ignores opinions from memory about how the object should look. Instead, the artist "sees the object in reality" - comparing its size as a whole, the size of individual elements, the ratio of space, light and shadow, and combining all this into a single picture "

The benefits of right hemispheric drawing are a lot:

  • Development of cognitive functions
  • Development of imagination
  • Increased self-esteem
  • Relaxation

In short, we learn to draw🎨
