Why You Should Check Out Vikings: The TV Show

For the last few years I've been watching the Vikings. This TV show is probably one of the best shows I've seen in a longtime. You'll probably agree, especially if you're a fan of viking related stuff. Anyways, here's some information about the show, why you should watch it and other cool information about Vikings, the TV show.

What Is Vikings About

It's about vikings. In the first season, the series followed the life of Ragnar and portrayed him as one of the first vikings to gather a crew and sale to England. Once in England, Ragnar and his crew conducted a series of raids. It basically followed the adventures of Ragnar, his friends and his descendants.

What Season Is It On Now

The show is on the fifth season. Although many of the major characters have been killed off, the show is still going strong. I believe it has also been renewed for at least two more seasons. I could be wrong about that, but I think I did read somewhere that this was the case.

Highlights Of The Series

There has been so many cool things that have happened throughout the beginning of the series. Some of the highlights include:

  • Ragnar killing Jarl Borg
  • Ragnar being tossed into a pit of snakes (he died)
  • King Ecbert being captured by the vikings (he died, too)
  • Ivar The Boneless becoming a fierce/feared viking leader
  • Lagertha becoming queen of Kattegat
  • The great army attacking England

Those are only a few of the many highlights

Why Watch Vikings

There's three main reasons, with one being it is packed with action. "Vikings" has some of the best action scenes of any show currently on television. Not only that, but the acting is great and it is loosely based on historical events. For example, the vikings are thought to have settled Iceland, and in the series Floki discovers and settles in Iceland.

If you haven't heard of this show, then go and watch it when you can. Especially if you're a fan of viking stuff.
