beatBRAWL - A Multiplayer Music Card Game

INTRODUCTION

Hello, everyone! I'm Aditya Shukla, a team member of Team TechSentinels. Along with my talented teammates Shiv Rai (Lead Developer) and Akhil Pandey, we're currently pursuing our Bachelor's degrees in Technology. Today, I will be sharing about our project beatBRAWL – an immersive turn - based musical card game that leverages the Hive Blockchain.
I first discovered Hive through a hackathon announcement that circulated in my college WhatsApp group. In November, I participated in another hackathon named Code Hive Sinusoid Hackathon at NIIT Rajasthan where despite having no teammates, I secured a spot among the top winners. After that I was eager to participate again, so I quickly assembled a team and decided to bring this exciting game concept to life.

ABOUT MY PROJECT: beatBRAWL

beatBRAWL is a pioneering turn-based musical playing card game constructed on the Hive Blockchain that changes the way in which users experience music by using games. Players choose cards from a massive pool of songs to create their collection, battle one another in tactics-based play, and retain music cards as confirmed blockchain properties. What is unique about beatBRAWL is that every card is a real song with different musical qualities, making for a captivating means of learning new tunes while competing.

The core gameplay of beatBRAWL:

• Card Collection & Ownership: When players join for the first time, they receive 10 free cards chosen from our library of over 1000 songs. Each card represents a song with unique attributes like artist, genre, playtime and release year. Players receive one new card each week and can purchase additional cards to expand their collection.

• Turn-Based Gameplay: You must, in turn, match a characteristic from the center card to one of your cards. So, if the center card carries "Pop" as the genre, you play any one of your cards in the same genre "Pop". The card so played takes on the status of the new center card and it's the turn of the other player to match.

• Card Management & Shop: Players can manage their inventory, modify their deck and visit the shop to obtain new cards. The subscription model offers additional card access, creating a sustainable economy within the game.

beatBRAWL makes a distinctive intersection of music discovery, gaming and blockchain technology. Gamifying music discovery, we're assisting users in finding new artists and genres in an interactive way. The integration with Hive Blockchain makes player card collections have real value and ownership, providing a new model for digital music collectibles. Our game can assist independent artists in getting noticed by showcasing their work as collectible cards, offering a new platform for music promotion.
