The police were pushing people away from Parliament Hill throughout the day and into the surrounding streets. At the beginning of the day there were not so many demonstrators, but during the day the streets filled with demonstrators. Despite the throwing of a tear gas canister by the police at the demonstrator, the latter themselves held the line.
