En los momentos más críticos de nuestra vida, solemos experimentar emociones que atentan contra nuestro equilibrio interno, son respuestas que considero innatas, que en muchas ocasiones surgen como una medida de protección de nuestro sistema, aunque solemos pensar que son negativas estas sensaciones, considero que debemos verlas como un aliado.

En este sentido, si analizamos de cerca estos comportamientos y lo miramos desde una óptica diferente, podremos notar que las emociones asociadas con el estrés, llegan en el momento preciso para advertirnos y ayudarnos en la preparación de esas cosas que estamos haciendo mal, de manera que debemos verlo como una ayuda inesperada que, aunque en ocasiones llega de forma inoportuna, en otras, puede servir como una alerta de que algo importante esta por suceder.

Quisiera profundizar mi enfoque, imagina que estas en la universidad, y ha llegado el momento de las evaluaciones importantes, te aseguro que ciertos indicios aparecen, tu corazón se acelera, tus pensamientos parecen ir a mil por horas y la inquietud empieza adueñarse de tu vida, pues déjame decirte que esto se conoce como el estrés, que por cierto, ha empezado a desarrollar su trabajo y no te está diciendo que lo que tienes al frente no lo puedes lograr, por el contrario, te está diciendo que lo venidero es importante, que debes prestar más atención, dedicar más tiempo y enfocarte.

De modo que el estrés llega como una brújula, que apunta al norte cuando necesitamos enfocarnos, podría decir que, el mismo se encarga de señalar esas áreas de la vida que requieren cuidado y acción. En este sentido, lo que solemos ver como una carga, es más útil de que lo que imaginamos, ya que representa una gran advertencia para nuestra vida.

Ahora bien, muchos hemos escuchado de lo dañino que puede ser el estrés y ahora yo les digo, que puede ser muy positivo para nuestras vidas, de modo que es algo contradictorio, por consiguiente, ¿cómo debemos verlo? ¿Cómo enemigo o cómo incomprendido?

Déjame decirte que en nuestra cultura a menudo se suele pensar que el hecho de sentir estrés es algo abrumador, desorganizado e incluso representa un acto de desamor por nosotros mismos, ya que solemos vernos desaliñados y sin aliento para afrontar la vida, pero a mi entender es una visión errónea, ya que en realidad el estrés forma parte de un proceso natural en nuestras vidas.

Sin embargo, tenemos que ser conscientes que todos los excesos son malos, así que debemos tener cuidados y no vivir sumergido en agonías, ya que podríamos terminar desequilibrando nuestras emociones y en consecuencia nuestras vidas. En consecuencia, el estrés, no es sinónimo de debilidad, sino de una realidad que muchos olvidamos producto del ajetreo social, estoy hablando, de hacernos conscientes de que estamos vivos y consecuencia sentimos, lloramos, amamos, pero también sufrimos.

Imagínalo con un ejemplo sencillo, cuando plantamos en un jardín estamos atentos de que todo marcha bien y si por casualidad alguna planta empieza a marchitarse, notamos que necesitamos prestar atención a lo que está pasando, es decir, atacar a la falta agua o las plantas morirán.

En nuestras vidas, el estrés tiene el mismo comportamiento, nos hace ver las áreas donde necesitamos prestar más atención. Así que, la próxima vez que te sientas estresado, detente y analiza que debes corregir, tomando acciones para salir del desequilibrio que puede llegar a formarse y es aquí donde el estrés si sería un enemigo que debemos afrontar con mucha cautela, atacando las situaciones que terminan generándolo y corriendo con tiempo los daños que pueda provocar.

In this sense, if we closely analyze these behaviors and look at it from a different perspective, we can notice that the emotions associated with stress come at the right time to warn us and help us in the preparation of those things we are doing wrong, so we should see it as an unexpected help that, although sometimes comes at an inopportune time, at other times, can serve as a warning that something important is about to happen.

I would like to deepen my approach, imagine that you are in college, and the time has come for important evaluations, I assure you that certain signs appear, your heart races, your thoughts seem to go a thousand miles per hour and restlessness begins to take over your life, well let me tell you that this is known as stress, which by the way, has begun to develop its work and is not telling you that what you have in front you can not achieve, on the contrary, is telling you that what is coming is important, you should pay more attention, devote more time and focus.

So stress comes as a compass, pointing north when we need to focus, I could say, it is in charge of pointing out those areas of life that require care and action. In this sense, what we usually see as a burden, is more useful than we imagine, since it represents a great warning for our life.

Now, many of us have heard about how harmful stress can be and now I tell you, it can be very positive for our lives, so it is something contradictory, therefore, how should we see it? As an enemy or as misunderstood?

Let me tell you that in our culture it is often thought that feeling stress is something overwhelming, disorganized and even represents an act of unloving ourselves, as we tend to look disheveled and breathless to face life, but in my opinion this is a wrong view, since in reality stress is part of a natural process in our lives.

However, we must be aware that all excesses are bad, so we must be careful not to live immersed in agonies, as we could end up unbalancing our emotions and consequently our lives. Consequently, stress is not synonymous of weakness, but of a reality that many of us forget due to the social hustle and bustle, I am talking about making us aware that we are alive and consequently we feel, we cry, we love, but we also suffer.

Imagine it with a simple example, when we plant in a garden we are attentive that everything is going well and if by chance some plant starts to wilt, we notice that we need to pay attention to what is happening, that is, attack the lack of water or the plants will die.

In our lives, stress has the same behavior, it makes us see the areas where we need to pay more attention. So, the next time you feel stressed, stop and analyze what you need to correct, taking actions to get out of the imbalance that can be formed and this is where stress would be an enemy that we must face with great caution, attacking the situations that end up generating it and running with time the damage it can cause.
