Crowd Facts

Decentralized Fact Checking. Be empowered to participate in the process of discerning fact from fiction!
Description

Biased 'Fact Checking' has become a problem online, with vested interests paying alleged 'experts' to proclaim 'the truth' of important topics of the moment. Mainstream social networks use these biased 'Fact Checks' as a basis for interrupting conversations, posts and comments between people as if we, the public, are too ignorant to have a truthful conversation without Silicon Valley interfering and telling us 'the truth'!
Crowd Facts empowers the public to unite to share research, discuss important topics and to provide an alternative source of 'fact checking' that challenges the controlled narratives that are often passed off as 'fact'.
Anyone can ask to have a topic 'fact checked' and anyone can provide comments, resources and data to achieve that goal. We provide a framework of guidelines (See Our Community Rules Section) that outline best practices for submissions. The best contributions will receive upvotes on the Hive blockchain and receive crypto rewards.

Rules

- All 'Check Requests' must be made as a new Hive post.

- All 'Check Requests' must include a URL that points to an [archive.is](https://archive.is) page which itself points to a page/video which contains the material to be checked. This ensures source material is archived and cannot be deleted.

- All 'Check Requests' must highlight the specific claims/statements that are to be checked.

- All 'Check Requests' must include a hi-res image to represent the topic.

- All 'Check Requests' must be tagged with '#crowdfacts' and '#factcheck'.

- All comments and research that aims to check the details of the claims made in a 'Fact Check Request' must be added to the original post as a comment.

- No plagiarization will be tolerated and offenders are likely to attract downvotes.

- No abuse will be tolerated. Stick to the facts!

- Keep your mind open and accept that it's OK to admit your thinking was wrong - it doesn't mean that you yourself are wrong! We all make mistakes and learn in the process!
