Hello, travelers of the @worldmappin community! Today I have the pleasure of inviting you to discover and walk through the most attractive playground in my city, Ciego de Ávila. You will discover its fun games, landscapes, ranchón, pool for the little ones, and the natural environment of the place. Additionally, I will share several photos of the journey to get there, located in the surroundings of La Turbina. Hoy tengo el placer de invitarlos a conocer y caminar el parque infantil más atractivo de mi ciudad Ciego de Ávila, descubrirán sus juegos de diversión, paisajes, ranchón, piscina para los más pequeños y ambiente natural del lugar. Además, les compartiré varias fotografías de la travesía para llegar a él, ubicado en el entorno de la Turbina. Espero les guste el recorrido y disfruten cada uno de estos paisajes verdosos e instalaciones del parque. ¡Acompáñame en este maravilloso recorrido!

To get to the city park "La Turbina" from my home, it's 2 kilometers of streets and old portals. Located on the northern outskirts of the Avileña capital, this space has managed to become a place of recreation for the whole family. The idea for this visit came from my nephew, who wanted to swim in the pool at the "Latiendo Sueños" children's center, ride some of the rides they rent out for kids, and, of course, capture fun photos of his antics.

Para llegar al parque de la ciudad "La Turbina" desde mi hogar son 2 km de calles y portales antiguos, situado en la periferia norte de la capital avileña, este espacio a logrado convertirse en lugar de esparcimiento para toda la familia. La idea de esta visita surgió por iniciativa de mi sobrino, quien quería bañarse en la piscina del centro infantil "Latiendo Sueños", montar en algunos de los aparatos que alquilan para los niños y, por supuesto, capturar fotografías divertidas de sus travesuras.

La Turbina, to tell you a bit of its history, used to be an abandoned place, where people only fished in the lake it encompasses. This wasteland full of bushes has been transformed into a pleasant reflection of Ciego de Ávila's pride. Around the park's artificial lake, pathways have been marked, ranchón-style restaurants have been built, thematic sculptures have been created, and two old steam trains have been dusted off in memory of the city's transportation history. It also features boat rides, areas for children's games, and sports facilities.

La Turbina, para hablarles un poco de historia era un lugar abandonado, donde solo se pescaba en el lago que abarca. Este descampado lleno de matorrales se ha transformado en un agradable reflejo del orgullo de Ciego de Ávila. Alrededor del lago artificial del parque se han señalizado caminos, construido restaurantes tipo ranchón, creado esculturas temáticas y desempolvado dos viejos trenes de vapor en recuerdo de la historia del transporte de la ciudad. Además, cuenta con paseos en bote, zonas para juegos infantiles y prácticas de deporte.

From the entrance, the fresh air and the green of the trees and palm trees invite you to walk at a leisurely pace. The created boardwalk that borders the lake's waters offers charming views, with blue pathways that wind through the tropical vegetation. In this little spot, many children come to play with their parents, do yoga exercises, and even fly kites thanks to the good wind it offers.

Desde la entrada, el aire fresco y el verde de los árboles y palmas invitan a caminar sin prisa. El malecón creado, que bordea las aguas del lago, ofrece vistas encantadoras, con senderos azules que serpentean entre la vegetación tropical. En este pedacito, vienen muchos pequeños a jugar con sus padres, realizar ejercicios de Yoga y hasta empinar papalotes por el buen viento que ofrece.

Further ahead, I came across very professional metal sculptures, donated to the space and filling the atmosphere with artisanal life. They all represent animals such as an elephant, spider, turtle, rhinoceros, and crocodile.

Más adelante, me encontré con esculturas realizadas en metal muy profesionales, donadas al espacio llenando de vida artesanal el ambiente. Todas son representación de animales como elefante, araña, tortuga, rinoceronte y cocodrilo.

The walk continues among trees, paths, and green spaces. The peaceful atmosphere invites you to walk the avenues without rushing. As we moved forward, we kept discovering different corners: picnic trails, rest areas, spots by the water, and small structures that gave the place a special charm. But my nephew wasn't exactly thinking about resting. He wanted to get to the place he'd been waiting for ever since we left home as soon as possible.

El paseo continua entre árboles, caminos y espacios verdes. El ambiente tranquilo que invita a caminar sin prisas las avenidas. Mientras avanzábamos, íbamos descubriendo diferentes rincones: senderos para merendar, zonas de descanso, áreas junto al agua y pequeñas estructuras que daban al lugar un encanto especial. Pero mi sobrino no estaba precisamente pensando en descansar. Él quería llegar cuanto antes al lugar que llevaba esperando desde que salimos del hogar.

One of the park's most emblematic spots is the Floating Restaurant, inaugurated in 2012. It offers good service, though it could improve. The food is excellent, but prices should be better given the quality. Its location is its main attraction for the public. The menu is undoubtedly more extensive than other places, and it features an exemplary Cuban cocktail menu, including piña colada, mojito, and Cuba libre. The dock over the water offers a perfect panoramic view to stop and contemplate the reflection of the sky.

Uno de los centros más emblemático del parque es el Restaurante Flotante, inaugurado en 2012. Contiene un buen servicio, aunque puede mejorar. La comida es excelente, pero con respecto a precios debería ser superior. La ubicación es su principal atracción al público. El menú es más amplio que otros sitios sin duda y establece una coctelería cubana ejemplar como piña colada, mojito y Cuba libre. El muelle sobre el agua regala una panorámica perfecta para detenerse a contemplar el reflejo del cielo.

This area where the airplane is located used to be a very comfortable restaurant, highly popular among the locals. It offered dining services with all the amenities, air conditioning, exquisite chef's dishes, and views from above. Right now it's closed, completely abandoned, with no set date for restoration. Later I'll go take some more detailed photos of the airplane and its surroundings, as well as a colonial house that was closed but used to offer sales of various items.

Esta zona donde se encuentra el Avión, fue un restaurante muy cómodo y de mucha aceptación por los lugareños. Tenía servicios gastronómicos con todas las comodidades, aire acondicionado, exquisitez del shef y vistas desde las alturas. Ahora mismo está cerrado, en total abandono y si fecha de restauración. Luego iré a realizar algunas fotos más detalladas del avión y sus alrededores, además de una casita colonial que se encontraba cerrada pero ofreció ventas de artículos.

After so much walking, learning, and exploring, it was time to cool down with some cold juices and head into the playground. For my nephew, stepping into that place was much more than just rides: it was feeling like he was on vacation for a while, forgetting about the clock, and enjoying himself the way only children know how. His look of concentration said it all. For him, that little trip to the park was a real adventure.

Después de tanto caminar, aprender, conocer, tocaba refrescarse con jugos fríos y entrar al parque infantil. Para mi sobrino, meterse en el local era mucho más que atracciones: era sentirse de vacaciones por un rato, olvidarse del reloj y disfrutar como solo los niños saben hacerlo. Su cara de concentración lo decía todo. Para él, aquel pequeño paseo al parque era una auténtica aventura.

Among games, paths, and children's areas, he found new ways to have fun. And one of the images that best sums up the day is seeing him behind the wheel of his little vehicle, enjoying himself as if he were racing around a track. He also wanted to ride the electric motorcycles, but they didn't accept children under 8 years old. Oh well, it wasn't an obstacle to keep enjoying himself.

Entre juegos, caminos y zonas infantiles, encontró nuevas formas de divertirse. Y una de las imágenes que mejor resume el día es verlo al volante de su pequeño vehículo, disfrutando como si estuviera recorriendo un circuito de carreras. También quería montarse en las motos eléctricas pero no aceptaban a menores de 8 años, pero bueno no fue un impedimento para seguir disfrutando.

And then came one of the most anticipated events: the pool. The water, the games, and the atmosphere of the Acuática children's area made his eyes light up. There were kids playing and enjoying the water, and it was clear that this was one of his favorite places. The beautiful thing about the children's center is precisely that: it seems designed so that kids can let their imaginations run wild.

Y entonces llegó uno de los eventos más esperados: La piscina. El agua, los juegos y el ambiente del área infantil Acuatica hicieron que sus ojos se iluminaran. Allí había niños jugando y disfrutando del agua, y quedó claro que aquel era uno de sus lugares favoritos. Lo bonito del centro infantil es precisamente eso: que parece pensado para que los niños puedan dejar volar su imaginación.

Sometimes it's enough to leave home, walk together, and let a child's joy teach us to enjoy the simple things. A walk, a pool, some rides, and lots of smiles. A small trip that, without leaving the city, made us feel like we were living a great adventure.

Este paseo por el parque de la ciudad y, especialmente, por “Latiendo Sueños”, fue uno de esos días que nos recuerdan que no hace falta viajar lejos para vivir una aventura. A veces basta con salir de casa, caminar juntos y dejar que la alegría de un niño nos enseñe a disfrutar de las cosas sencillas. Un paseo, una piscina, unas atracciones y muchas sonrisas. Un pequeño viaje que, sin salir de la ciudad, nos hizo sentir que estábamos viviendo una gran aventura.
