Enjoying the island without Hotel, Restaurant and Bank in Aceh

Aceh Islands (Pulo Aceh) is the only sub district in Aceh Besar District, Aceh Province, which has an archipelago. Pulo Aceh District has 10 islands, but only 3 islands are inhabited. Namely Nasi Island, Breueh Island, and Teunom Island (Keureusek). The largest island, Breueh Island, consists of 2 mukim, Mukim Pulau Breueh Selatan and Mukim Pulau Breueh Utara, which is further divided into 12 villages. The capital of Pulo Aceh sub-district is located in Lampuyang, a village belonging to the mukim of South Breueh Island.

How To Get There

To get there, there are only transportation modes in the form of fishing boats and daily fishers, except Friday, departing from the Port of Lampulo in Banda Aceh at 14.00 pm. Approximately 2 jamrang I've got there.

There are several boats to choose from, boats going to Gugop village or boat to Lampuyang. There is also a boat directly to the village Meulingge, but the schedule is uncertain. To start the adventure on Breueh Island, I chose from the village of Gugop, a village that has adequate facilities and infrastructure on Breueh Island. There is only 1 boat every day to get there, alternating between KM Satria Baru or KM Jasa Bunda. To return to Banda Aceh, boats from Gugop village leave at 08.00. Do not get late, because the boat departure schedule is very timely.
Boat fare for one way is Rp. 15.000, - / person.

When bringing a motorcycle, add the cost Rp. 15.000, - to pay the motor lift lift to the boat, Rp. 15.000, - for motor transport costs, and Rp. 15.000, - again to lower the motor in the destination port. Remember to be honest in paying. Because the livelihoods of the people of Breueh Island are also dependent here. However, I prefer to rent a motorcycle locals, just 100 / day, own gasoline content.

Accomodation

There is no public transport on Breueh Island. Carrying a two-wheeled vehicle from Banda Aceh is a wise decision. Or another way, ask the locals for help on a ride around the island with their bikes. With pleasure, they will help. And if you like walking activities, lots of interesting places that can be reached on foot, although it may take longer, because the terrain is hilly.

There are neither hotel nor hostel. Staying in one of the residents' homes was the best option, I chose to sleep at the Fisherman's Hall. If you have a tent and love outdoor activities, it will be more fun to camp. Many exotic places that can be used for camping, for example on the beach. But do not forget, report to the Village Head or the Mukim Head when visiting this island.

Here is also not a restaurant. If anything, maybe very little. On my visit some time ago I did not find any restaurants or food stalls. Of course, when staying at local homes, food will be provided by them. Or alternatively, bring your own cookware a portable stove to cook instant noodles and fish that can be fished alone or bought from locals. Quiet, to buy raw food such as instant at there. Lucky you there when the Commemoration of the Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (maulid) you will be able to free food.

There are no Banks or ATMs there, it's good to bring enough kant uant. Indeed, most locals do not ask for money from travelers visiting Breueh Island for accommodation services while there. They are very happy to receive and greatly respect the guests. However, it would be nice if travelers give money at least to replace their spending money.
