Wat Phra That Sri Chom Thong, a beautiful temple in Chiang Mai province, in the North of Thailand

Wat Phra That Sri Chom Thong is one of the beautiful temples in Chiang Mai province, in the North of Thailand.

One of the highlights of this temple is the golden chedi, called Sri Chom Thong. It acts as the symbol of Wat Phra That Si Chom Thong.

The architecture of this chedi is in Lanna's style, like other temples in the northern part that you already saw from my several posts.

But, the shape of this chedi is unique and unlike others; i.e. the base area is in a square shape and the top area is in a circular shape with 3 tiers.

In front of the chedi, you will see two huge golden Singhas.

They have magnificent designs and look powerful.

Inside the Viharn, there are many Buddha statues that are marvelous and look sacred.

Three of them are carved wooden Buddha statues which are amazing.

The doors of the Viharn are made of wood and they were carved about the Buddhist stories.

These are very beautiful and wonderful design with interesting stories!

As you can see, Wat Phra That Sri Chom Thong is worth a visit indeed!
